The key element of a successful practice is a professional, personable and high quality staff. At Westside Plastic Surgery Specialists, we have nothing but the finest, most highly qualified professionals the medical business has to offer.
David R. Luethcke, M.D., F.A.C.S. — I moved to Houston to begin medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in 1981. It was there that I met my wife Dr. Rebecca Luethcke, who has been in the practice of Ob/Gyn since 1989. We have two daughters. After medical school, I trained in General Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston for 5 years. Following this, I trained in Plastic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine for two years and then did a one-year fellowship at the M.D. Anderson Hospital here in the medical center. I am board certified in Plastic Surgery by the American Board of Medical Specialties and have been in private practice since 1993. I am Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, The American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, The Houston Society of Plastic Surgeons, The Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons, as well as the Texas Medical Association and Harris County Medical Society.
"My approach to the practice of plastic surgery is highly individualized. I believe the best results are obtained by first carefully listening to the patient's concerns and then designing treatment that specifically targets these objectives. There are frequently several options available that may address a specific goal and these may vary somewhat in aggressiveness, recovery time, scars and ability to achieve the desired optimum goal. It is my job to explain these options along with their strengths and weaknesses to the patient so that we can, together, arrive at a course of treatment that is effective, cost efficient and meets the patient's expectations as much as possible.
"Outside of medicine, I enjoy music and have played the guitar in a number of bands. For the past several years, I have studied classical and jazz guitar exclusively. My family and I also enjoy sailing, skiing and hiking."
Born in Missouri, I moved to Houston in 1976 with my parents, where I began high school. After being a full time mother for several years, I decided to pursue my dream of being a nurse. I went to nursing school here in Houston. Upon graduation, I worked for Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital for four years where I was able to expand my skills by working on the med/surg floor and recovery room. I then worked for an ambulatory day surgery center for three years in the pre-op and recovery area. This is where I met Dr. Luethcke and was thrilled when he asked me to come work for him. I have been employed by Dr. Luethcke since 1999 as his nurse, and most recently have become his office manager also. I have two boys and two step-children. My husband, David and I have been married since 2002.
The best thing about working in this office (besides a great boss!) is the relationships that develop with the patients. It is fulfilling to be there for them from the beginning to the end of their plastic surgery experience.
I am a native Houstonian, completing high school in Humble, Texas. After graduating in 1980, I moved to Monroe, Louisiana for about five years. I then returned to Texas and took a job as a NICU Hostess at The Methodist Hospital in the medical center. I have been in the medical field since 1993 with my experience ranging from working at Methodist for the NICU to front office. I have three grown sons whom I feel keep me very young at heart. I enjoy baking and trying new recipes. I have been employed by Dr. Luethcke since September 2004 and truly believe I have been blessed to have this opportunity to work with such a great team.
Born and raised in New London, Connecticut, I moved to Texas when my husband of 32 years retired from the U.S. Coast Guard. We are the proud parents of three grown daughters. Work and the girls still occupy the majority of our time but traveling is what we like to do when time allows. I started my 32 year medical career as a Registered X-ray Technologist. Six years ago I changed gears and moved into medical coding and billing. I thoroughly enjoy my position here at Westside Plastic Surgery Specialists. Working with Dr. Luethcke, Kim and Neva is a dream come true. This is the kind of job you stay with until you retire.
Our front office receptionist, Ms. Neva Martin, has over 15 years of experience in the medical field and integrates seamlessly into our team. Scheduling of your appointments and follow-up visits are managed accurately and courteously and, of course, with the greatest considerations for your schedule. She works very hard to keep our schedule moving in a way that allows for Dr. Luethcke to spend the time he wants with the patient while decreasing the amount of time a patient waits to see him.
Our Insurance/Billing/Collections specialist, Ms. Sharon Gormanson, has over 30 years of experience in the medical field. There is no element of the insurance side of the business that she is unfamiliar with. She is the ultimate resource for answering any questions pertaining to this area.
Our Office Manager and Nurse, Ms. Kimberly A. Savage, LVN, has acquired skills and knowledge of the business side of our practice and manages a tightly cohesive team here. Many of our patients comment on how close we seem to be and how nice and friendly our office environment is. She also has over 12 years of nursing experience that ranges from the surgical floor to the recovery area to pre-op. Since her employment here in 1999, she has acquired a great deal of knowledge and expertise in plastic surgery and is highly skilled at handling medical inquires from our patients and managing the clinical side of our practice.
