Botox Approved by FDA

It is with great pleasure that we announce the upcoming approval by the FDA for the use of Botox® to treat facial wrinkles. This product has proven to be a safe and very effective way of reducing the deep facial wrinkles caused by the movement of the muscles of the face. It is used mostly in the area of wrinkles on the nose, the frown lines between the eyebrows, the forehead and the crow's feet.

Botox® is easily administered in the office using a micro needle into the muscles of the face that are causing the wrinkles. It blocks the effects of the nerves on the muscles, causing the muscles to relax into a chemical paralysis. This relaxation is what causes the dramatic improvement so often seen. It may take up to 10 days for the effect of the Botox® to achieve its maximum effect. The effect usually lasts for 3-6 months. Some early studies are showing that the interval of effect may increase in some individuals up to 8 months after repeated injections into the same area.

Botox® is proving very popular in our practice because of its safety, ease of use, dramatic effects and the fact that these things can be achieved without surgery or any down time whatsoever.
