Laser Technique

Facial Vessels

Everyone has seen those small red vessels on the cheeks or by the nose, or even the small red spots (hemangiomas) that appear with age. We are very happy to have in our office a laser system that is highly effective in treating these nagging problems. This is the Diolite (registered trademark) laser. The Diolite treatments are done in the office and are very well tolerated. It leaves no marks on the skin, and, best of all, the vessels just disappear. For thicker areas of blood vessels such as Rosacea, treatments may have to be repeated. In well defined locations, usually only one treatment is needed to get a very satisfying result that can be appreciated prior to leaving the office!

Age Spots

Age spots, or lentigos, are a common occurrence on light skinned individuals. They appear as a consequence of age and sun exposure. We have, in our office, a laser that is effective in treating them. This is the Diolite laser. The treatments are well tolerated and can be done on the face, arms and hands. It may take a couple of weeks for the treated area to lighten. Occasionally, more than one treatment is needed to address the spots as fully as possible. The spot(s) darken slightly after treatment and may peel. After this, they are gone or are lighter. It is important to protect the treated areas from the sun during the healing process.

MICROLASERPEEL™

Microlaserpeel™- is an intra-epidermal laser peel that precisely ablates the outermost layers of the skin. The procedure is individually tailored to the nature of the condition to be corrected.

Skin conditions such as: wrinkles, scars, acne scars, keratoses or pigmentary problems have been very successfully treated with a MicroLaserPeel.

It is a partial to full epidermal peel and is performed with topical anesthetic.

You can expect to experience smoother, healthier, more vibrant skin with a significant, immediate change in the skin texture and tightness.

Healing takes 3-5 days. Symptoms immediately following the procedure resemble sunburn, with minor sloughing a few days later. Redness will begin to fade after that and may easily be covered by makeup.
